Dear Good Ancestors,

Tomorrow marks the first fasting day of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.

I want to take a moment to wish my Muslim family around the world a safe, blessed, and spiritually nourishing Ramadan.

It is undoubtedly challenging observing this holy month while again being socially distanced from each other, and concerned for our well-being and the well-being of our loved ones.

May this month give us strength. May it remind us of our connection with God and with each other. And may we be blessed with the spiritual replenishment that this month offers.

On a personal note, Ramadan is one of my favourite times of the year.

It is a time when we disengage from the rush of the world, go inwards, reestablish our spiritual connections, and are invited to be more mindful about how we show up in the world. I use this time to do less, so I can be more.

For that reason, you may hear less from me over the next 30 days while I focus on fully be-ing in this beautiful, holy month. Thanks in advance for your understanding.

With love,

Layla
